Family Pictures 2012

We went and had our family pictures taken today and Meladee decided to show off my standing on her own while a few pictures where taken today.  It was fun and they turned out great.

It is that time again for Santa pictures and once again Meladee did what Meladee does best and was great and loved Santa and he even let her play with his beard. 

Meladee is 15 months

Miss Meladee is 15 months old and here is her picture.  She is growing up so fast and has changed since her year old pictures.

Meladee is catching up!!

As of this last weekend Meladee is now crawling, I mean the real crawling.  Tonight she crawled from the living room to the bathroom for her bath.  She also now waves and says "bye" when someone waves. This has been going on for about a week and she is also pulling her self up to everything.  Her PT will be shocked to see her do this in two weeks when she comes back.  I see more of what she does since I am at work all day.  So proud of my baby girl!

It has come to my attention that......

Many people are still asking me why Meladee doesn't crawel, why she doesn't walk already or why this or that.  It seems I need to remind some people that Meladee did have open heart surgery 6 months ago and that she had 6 to 8 weeks where she couldn't be on her stomach and we had to limit her in what she could do.  And because of this she has had to build her trunk muscles back up.  She is now army craweling and trying to sit up on her own and will take steps if we hold her hands.  But Meladee is Meladee and she is doing things that some babies don't do at her again such as being completely off a bottle and not using a binky, and feeding herself and not drinking formula, so all I am asking is to just remember she has a little challange where other babies don't and please don't judge her.

Meladee is ONE!!

After what has been an amazing year for Meladee she is now 1!!  Hard to believe that it has been a year since she was born.  Let alone it has been 5 months since she had Open Heart Surgery.  As of August 3rd, 2012 she is now 18lbs 10 ozs and 30 inches long.  Dr. Likes, Meladee's cardiologist says that Meladee plays by her own set of rules and not the medical set of rules. 

My mom and I took Meladee to have professional outdoor pictures of her down.  I am including 3 sneek peeks of those in this blog.  I get the rest in a little over a week and a half.  We had some other pictures done as well.

Meladee's cousin Kyle came to visit her this weekend and she feel in love with him.  Then today I gave her an Oreo cookie and she loves those as well.  There is pictures of her on the 4th of July and her playing with her IPad.

ENT Apppointment

So, Meladee's appointment today was kind of a waste of time.  After being referred to Puget Sound ENT we are getting referred back to Children's Hospital to their ENT clinic because I really don't think the doctor was comfortable in handling her because of her having to have medication before they do the procdure.  So I will call this week to get that appointment scheduled.

Meladee, Meladee, Meladee

That fits her right about now. 

Grammy has taught Meladee she has a voice and now she uses it, at home, in the car and at the store, she is a lot louder than she use to be.

Not only does she roll where ever she wants to go but she has decided she likes to stand and only wants to us to hold one of her hands, she has figured out to move her feet (when she wants too). 

When it comes to sleeping, she no longer likes sleeping on her back.  She is either on her side or her stomach, cross ways in the bed or at an angle, never know how she is going to be laying.

Tomorrow I am taking her to an ENT doctor to have her ear tag looked at.  She has had it since she was born, we are going to see what they decide to do.  So, hopefully by her first birthday that will be gone and then we work on getting her ears pierced.

So we are less than two months from her being a year old.  Actually we are 45 days until she turns a year old.  Where has the time gone.

I am sure Meladee will be doing a lot more in the next week.  We go back to see Dr. Likes the 3rd of August and see what the plan is then, hopefully she will be off her medication.

Disney Baby Contest

Helping fold clothes and playing in her cube

Meladee decided to help grandma fold clothes she was more chewing in them and I got her a cube shelf for her toys and she likes to play in the cube instead of her toys in there.

So Miss Meladee won't hold her own bottle but she is willing to feed herself and will drink out of a cup.

More good news

Now that all Meladee's appointments are finished from last week and this week it is time for an update.

Thursday Meladee when in for her 9 month check up and she is now 16 lbs and 1oz and 28 1/4 inches long.  She is in the 10% for her weight and 75% for her height.  Dr. Parrish is very happy with how she is doing and is still meeting her milestones.

Yesterday she saw her Cardiologist and Dr. Likes was very happy with how she is doing.  She is no longer on her Lasik and there was no changes in her heart medication because of her weight gain it is a decrease in her medication.  So the good news was she does not have to go back for 3 months.  It is the first time since she was born that we don't have weekly or monthly appointments with Dr. Likes.

When she is a year old she goes back to see both Dr. Parrish and Dr. Likes.

She is now rolling all over the floor to get to where she wants she is on the go all the time.  I will follow up with pictures soon.

Little chatter box bubble blower

I finally was able to record Melaee jibbering and doing rasberries.  Normally she will stop if she sees a camera but today she decided to talk.

Meladee was happy

Ana came back to see Meladee.  For those who don't know who Ana is, she is Meladee's "teacher" for her Early Headstart program she is in.  She hadn't seen Ana in about a month and half but when she showed up today she was a very happy little girl.  She showed off for Ana today as well, rolling over, standing, chattering to her and playing with her.  Ana comes once a week, next week she will be back and then after that we will start going to group every other week.  And then in two weeks Liz will be back, she is from The Little Red Schoolhouse and they help with PT/OT and other things as well.  We will see how Meladee likes that.  Just getting her back on track with her "friends" that come to see her and play with her.

Guess What?!

I entered Meladee into the Gap Casting Call.  If she wins for her age group she would get a $1000 Gap gift card and a professional photo shoot, the 2nd prize is a $500 gift card and a professional photo shoot and 3rd prize is a $500 Gap gift card.  Voting doesn't start until towards the end of May.  I will updated when it starts.

Today's appointment

Meladee is now 14 1/2 pounds, so she is 2 oz over her pre surgery weight.  She had an echo done today again as well and no changes with that.  Her medications have been cut back once again.  She only has to take the diuretic once a day and her heart medication three times a day, which mean I no longer have to stay up until midnight and also no longer have to wake her up during the night either.  We go back to see Dr. Likes in a month.
